Sample Shapes The shapes were developed using the Windows Vista operating system on a Dell XPS laptop. If you know that these files will work on a Mac, then great. However, I don’t use a Mac and I don’t know anyone who uses a Mac so I don’t know if these shapes are compatible with your software or machine. All shapes may be edited using simple buttons and advanced editing in Visio. One example is deleting the back lip of a flask and moving the stopper to an order behind the flask. That will make the image more realistic. Another example is selecting an agar streak shape and changing the streak color. You may also change the fill color which will add a second color to the center of the colony (i.e. Enterobacter on EMB, pink mucoid colonies with a purple center.) I start with the assumption that you have used Visio and understand how to make changes and modifications to shapes in your document. I do not intend to teach Visio design techniques as part of my offering.
CHEMISTRY Under Development Now Why am I doing this?So here is the short story. After deciding to go back to college to pursue a new career in health care, I enrolled in Microbiology, Chemistry and Biochemistry courses along with other science courses. Professional looking reports for my science coursework was a strong personal desire and I quickly became frustrated when I couldn’t locate Visio shapes for my lab classes. I was forced to use clipart and photos in MS PowerPoint. That was fine, but not my style. Visio does what I wanted to do and I have always agreed with those who say we should work smarter, not harder. COST InformationOver 600 hours have been spent developing these shapes and I would like to share them with others. Because I do have other hobbies that require a level of discretionary money and my certain lack of the same, I am offering these shapes to the public for a minimum of $39 US currency for each set. You may donate more than $39 if you would like since that may encourage me to continue adding shapes for science professionals. I plan to discount the Chemistry and Microbiology combination set for $69 US. A single donation is for one user only. Add these shapes to as many computers that you own as long as it is for your own use. Although this is not my profession, I appreciate respect for the time I have invested and upon receipt of the files you agree not share them with others. You may, of course, encourage others to support this project with a donation. Academic or large groups may want to contact me about some kind of modified donation scale. I haven’t really thought that completely through, as stated, this is a hobby and not the career that pays my mortgage. |
